The Board

Chris Char­ney is a film and tele­vi­sion Writer. He joined Far­point Films in 2004 and con­tin­ues to hone his craft through writ­ing and devel­op­ing fea­ture films and tele­vi­sion. His cred­its include the fea­ture film WIld Cherry star­ing Rob Schnei­der, Rumer Willis, Tania Ray­monde, and Kristin Cav­al­lari as well as his work on the doc­u­men­tary series War­riors TKO for APTN.


 

Karen Nay­lor is a fifth-generation rail way worker, and a promi­nent fig­ure in the Win­nipeg Left. She served for nine years as a Labour Rep on the Board of Direc­tors of the Work­ers Com­pen­sa­tion Board. Though offi­cially retired as a union rep­re­sen­ta­tive, she is busier than ever, teach­ing in the Labour Stud­ies pro­gram at the Uni­ver­sity of Man­i­toba and vol­un­teer­ing on numer­ous exec­u­tive boards. She has run in five fed­eral elec­tions for the Marxist-Leninist Party, com­ing in dead last all but once. (Basi­cally, she’s a hard core leftie.) Karen is the Chair of the Board for Winnipeg’s Cul­tural City Hall.





Cur­tis Nowosad has quickly become Winnipeg’s go-to drum­mer. At twenty-two, he has already per­formed in big band and small group set­tings with some of New York’s finest jazz musi­cians, includ­ing Ste­fon Har­ris, Mar­cus Printup, Ted Nash, Steve Wil­son, Miguel Zenón, and his teacher and men­tor Steve Kirby.



Marjorie Poor

Mar­jorie Poor is an edi­tor, writer, and audi­ence mem­ber liv­ing in Win­nipeg. She has pre­vi­ously served on the boards of the Man­i­toba Writ­ers’ Guild, Prairie Fire Press, Inc., and the Man­i­toba Edi­tors’ Asso­ci­a­tion. She is the edi­tor of Prairie books NOW
